5th Annual Jogathon, Friday October 24

Zion Parents,
The PTL Jogathon Fundraiser supports activities and projects all year. This year we will raise money for a new covered sandbox for the playground, three school assemblies (from Mobile Ed and the Oregon Coast Aquarium) and for the drama department. PTL sponsors many other events like the Spring Carnival, Staff Appreciation lunches, L.E.S.T. and Outdoor School. The Jogathon is Zion PTL’s largest fundraiser bringing in over 80% of the PTL annual budget.
All Zion students, PreK through 8th grade, participate in this fast and fun fundraiser. Students collect pledges before the Jogathon. Please look over the pledge envelope that was sent home with your student so they are familiar with all the information. This year we would like each child to have a personal goal written on the pledge envelope. Pledges can be made on a “per lap” or a “flat donation”.
Classes run/walk for 30 minutes in different time slots throughout the day on October 24. Weather permitting, we will be outside. Last year some groups ran outside, some ran inside. Come cheer on the runners!
Pre – K/ Kindergarten 10:00-10:45 am 5th Grade / 6th Grade 1:45-2:30 pm
1st Grade / 2nd Grade 9:15-10:00 am 7th Grade / 8th Grade 8:30-9:15 am
3rd Grade / 4th Grade 1:00-1:45 pm
Jogathon pledge envelopes will be turned in twice:
1. Turn in pledge envelopes to teachers BEFORE the Jogathon Friday, October 24. The envelopes will be returned with the number of laps and amounts due recorded.
2. To be eligible for prizes in the Pledge Lottery, ALL paid pledges are due Monday, November 3.
All prizes will be presented during an awards ceremony, Thursday, November 6 at 2:30 p.m.
Prizes will be given for:
Top Runner for each class (10 prizes: PreK – 8th Grade)
Top Runner for the school (1 prize)
Top Earner for the school (1 prize) Student with the highest dollar amount of PAID pledges
Pledge Lottery Prizes (3 prizes: including the GRAND PRIZE iPOD SHUFFLE)
For each sponsor who makes a pledge, the student gets one ticket that will go into the Pledge Lottery. Pledge Lottery Tickets will be entered into the drawing AFTER the pledges are paid and turned in.
